Motor Retention Ring

Intro: This piece was designed for use on Boston Universities Rocket Propulsion Group's 16 foot long, 12 inch diameter rocket named LAD. This is the at the very bottom of the rocket.It attaches to the Fin Can to keep the motor in the rocket during flight.

Primary Purpose: Stop the solid motor from falling out of the rocket during the recovery section of the flight
- 12 radial bolts are mounted into the Fin Can. Mil spec threaded inserts are used to the wear associated with threading aluminum
Secondary Purpose: Allow location of motor to be defined by Thrust Ring.
